Sylvia Hastanan started Greater Good Health to give more people access to equitable care. Now the company is redefining what holistic valued-based care looks like, starting with the people healthcare relies on the most—Nurse Practitioners. As a nurse with a ton of experience working with large healthcare companies, Sylvia saw that nurse practitioners were being overlooked and underutilized, but she knew they could help fill the gap in primary care. Her goal is to empower these NPs to give the best care possible. Strangely enough, she became more aware of the need for this solution while working with a venture fund and keeping an eye on changes in healthcare laws and payment models. Sylvia's main focus was finding the right fit for the market, not becoming an entrepreneur or CEO. But even before the company was officially established, she landed some major contracts.
